As a teacher, tutor, and writing coach, I help both young people and adults to articulate their ideas and get them down on the page in a clear, well-organized (and often even beautiful) form.<\/p>\n
I provide students with the feedback they need to improve their writing fluency and composition skills. I help students to recognize and use their own strengths to develop their academic skills.<\/p>\n
When it comes to homework support, I guide student toward the skills they need to meet or exceed expectations.<\/p>\n
I can also develop an independent academic enrichment program that will strengthen that student’s preparation for college.<\/p>\n
I work with a broad range of students, from third graders to adults. Areas of special knowledge include reading comprehension, fiction and nonfiction writing, humanities (especially art and history), English as a Second Language, and preparation for the reading and writing sections of the old and new SAT.<\/p>\n
A credentialed teacher with a master’s degree from UC Berkeley, I have more than 15\u00a0years’ experience teaching and tutoring in private homes, public schools, and the UC Berkeley Academic Talent Development Program<\/a>.
